Lightning Support
Say which iPhone and iOS version you have, and the place and time if it is about a strike or an alert. We read every message.
Where Lightning has live data
Live strikes come from NOAA's GOES satellites over the Americas and EUMETSAT's Meteosat over Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Asia and Australia have no live data; the app says so there. Lightning Pro adds precise strikes from a ground network for up to 3 places you choose.
Alerts
Each place in Places has its own alerts: the distance that triggers one, a heads-up, and a strike-rate alert. Each of the 3 alerts goes out at most once every 30 minutes per place. Settings has one switch that turns every notification off. Alerts go from detection through our servers and Apple to your phone, and can be late or missed; Focus, Low Power Mode and weak signal can delay them.
Lightning Pro
$99 once, $39.99 a year or $4.99 a month. All three unlock the same Pro. To restore a purchase on a new phone: Settings › Lightning Pro › Restore. To cancel a subscription: the Settings app › your name › Subscriptions.
Your data
Menu › Safety & data › Delete my data removes your places and alert registration from our server at once. Settings › Share anonymous usage turns off the usage and speed reports. The Privacy Policy has the details, and the Terms of Use the rules.
Lightning Clock
The wait after the last strike lives in Lightning Clock, a separate free app. Lightning shows the strikes; Lightning Clock counts the minutes.
